Emily Foster and Malin Wallmon, two key members of the SBCC women’s swim team, have accepted scholarships to swim for Colorado State University at Pueblo.

Freshman Kaili Faust recorded All-American times in the 50 and 100 breaststroke.
Vaqueros post 8 All-American times

SBCC capped off an outstanding first season of women’s swimming with eight All-American times. All-American status goes to the top 16 times or marks for two-year colleges in the United States in each event.

Freshman Rachelle Visser was the 10th-highest scorer in the State Finals with 47 points.

Rachelle Visser added a third and fourth to her medal haul on Saturday, leading SBCC to 12th place in the CCCAA State Women’s Swimming Championships at East L.A. College.

SBCC’s Rachelle Visser took third in the 200 individual medley on Friday on Day 2 of the CCCAA State Swimming and Diving Championships at East LA College in Monterey Park.

Visser, Faust help Vaqueros take third in WSC Finals

Rachelle Visser and Kaili Faust both finished second on Saturday at L.A. Valley as SBCC grabbed third place in its first appearance at the WSC Women’s Swimming Championships.

Emily Foster, a sophomore from Dos Pueblos High, posted a 3rd, a 5th and swam leadoff on the 2nd-place 800 free relay team.
Strong relays lift Vaqueros into third at WSC Finals

Kaili Faust and Emily Foster went 2-3 in the 50 breaststroke on Friday and SBCC’s relay teams took second and third on Day 2 of the WSC Women’s Swimming Championships at L.A. Valley.

Kaili Faust, a freshman from Hawaii, took fourth in the 50 free and swam a leg on the 4 x 100 medley relay that placed third.
Vaqueros are fourth after Day 1 of WSC Championships

Personal bests were set all day long on Thursday by the SBCC women’s swim team as the Vaqueros placed third on the first day of the WSC Championships at L.A. Valley.

Freshman Rachelle Visser posted a first, second and third in the 14th annual Pasadena Invitational on Friday and Saturday, leading SBCC to a sixth-place finish in the prestigious women’s swim meet hosted by Pasadena City College.

Rachelle Visser captured two events in season-best times on Friday and SBCC used its superior depth to defeat four teams in WSC women’s swimming meet No. 3 at San Marcos High.

Rachelle Visser has been chosen female Athlete of the Week by the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table. She received her award on Monday during the weekly press luncheon at Harry’s Plaza Café.

Emily Foster captured two events and swam on the victorious 400 free relay team on Friday, leading SBCC to its first-ever victory in women’s swimming. The Vaqueros collected 188 points to beat L.A. Pierce (127) and Ventura (70) on a cold and windy day at the Ventura Aquatics Center.
