Johnson is SBART Athlete of the Week

Halie Johnson has been named Athlete of the Week by the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table.

The sophomore from San Marcos High scored 16 goals with nine assists last week as the undefeated Vaqueros (19-0) went 5-0. She had five goals in a 20-5 WSC win over L.A. Valley on Wednesday and another five goals in a 19-10 win over Hancock on Saturday.

The Vaqueros went 4-0 in the Ventura Tournament last weekend.

Johnson is No. 5 in the state with 64 goals (3.4 avg.). Teammate Addison Seale leads the state in assists with 59.

SBCC will play four games in the Battle at the Beach on Oct. 21-22 at Cerritos College.
