Vaqueros Claim Top Spot at Cuesta
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The Santa Barbara City College women's swim team claimed the top spot among five schools at Friday's meet at Cuesta College.
Kennison Cota and Sofia Paez led the way, each earning 21 points. Cota secured two wins in the 100M and 200M breaststroke, while Paez won the 200M freestyle and placed third in both the 200M individual medley and 100M freestyle.
Lily Carrick picked up three victories, winning the 200M backstroke, 200M individual medley, and contributing to the 200M medley relay.
Addie Lane took first in the 1650M freestyle and finished runner-up to Paez in the 200M freestyle.
Jaeda Crabtree claimed victory in the 100M butterfly and finished third in the 1650M freestyle.
Leah Rummelhoff and Erin Otsuki also secured three wins each, including two in relay events, while Maddie Myers added two first-place finishes and one second-place finish.
The Vaqueros have now finished first in both of their meets this season and will be back in action on Friday at Mt. SAC.
