Bio

High School: Attended Royal High and swam varsity for three years. Her favorite stroke is freestyle, so any event that is short-coursed and involves that stroke, is her favorite. Her fastest 50 free time was 26.40 her senior year. Swimming is a huge part of her other sport, water polo. She played goalie on the 2015 Royal squad that won the CIF Div. 4 water polo title on Feb. 28 in Irvine. 

2015: Mackenzie had a monster freshman season in goal for the Vaquero Women’s Water Polo team. She was named Captain, Most Valuable Player of the team and Player of the Year in the Western State Conference. In addition, she received 1st Team All-Southern Cal and All-American honors.

Coach Chuckie Roth: "Mackenzie is the most polite athlete I have ever coached. Her character is a role model for other athletes to follow. I am excited to see her grow this swim season and take her confidence into the 2016 water polo season."

Personal: Mackenzie was born on December 5, 1996 in Palmdale, Calif. Shortly after her birth, she moved to Simi Valley. She has always had a passion for old cars, wanting to know every little detail about them. In 6th grade, she began playing water polo and fell in love with the sport. Before tournaments, she has her music blasting to focus and get her mind in the game. She is adventurous and enjoys seeing what the world has in store for her. In her free time, she loves to surf and skateboard. She is also a strong believer that hard work will pay off in the end.

SBCC registered 16 All-American marks in women’s swimming & diving in 2017. The top 16 times in each event receive All-American status from the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA).

Seale receives rare triple honor from SBCC

Addison Seale has been named SBCC’s female Athlete of the Year for the second straight year. It’s her third Athlete or Scholar-Athlete of the Year award in her two-year SBCC career.

Alex Humann was a five-time first-team All-WSC selection in three freestyle events and two relays.

SBCC's Alex Humann made first-team All-WSC Swimming & Diving in five swimming events and second team in the 200 medley relay. Humann, a sophomore from San Francisco, was a first-team choice in the 100, 200 and 500 freestyle as well as the 400 and 800 free relays.

Reese Ellestad rallied SBCC from 7th to 3rd on the third leg of Saturday’s final event, the 400 free relay, and Alex Humann turned in a strong anchor leg to hold off Orange Coast and secure fourth place in the relay and in the State Women’s Swimming & Diving standings.

Vaqueros break school record; Jacobson gets 2nd All-American honor

SBCC shattered the school record in the 800 free relay on Friday night and Gina Jacobson placed third in 3-meter diving on Day 2 of the CCCAA State Swimming & Diving Championships at East L.A. Swim Stadium.

Gina Jacobson captured the 1-meter State diving title and set a State record with 246.85 points, breaking a nine-year-old mark.
