Bio
Piers is a proud SBCC alum and former Vaquero, having played two seasons on the men’s basketball team and serving as team captain for one. After several years working in the events industry, while still playing recreational basketball, he felt something was missing, and rediscovered his passion for basketball through private coaching. The private coaching led to a community center coaching job, and the team finished second in the league, including a memorable 15-point comeback win with just five minutes remaining.
He went on to coach his former middle school team to an undefeated championship season and later assisted at the high school level. Piers has since worked with youth club teams and private clients, developing players across all ages.
Now back at SBCC, where his love for the game flourished, Piers is committed to helping the women’s program grow both on the court and beyond. His goal is to foster the same sense of confidence, connection, and purpose he found through basketball.
