SBCC Stuns Mission with Buzzer Beater
SAN MATEO, Calif. – Sienna Hoban hit the game-winning shot at the buzzer to help the No. 20 Santa Barbara City College women's basketball team seal a 54-52 win over Mission College on Thursday.
"Long story short, Amarisse Camargo hits Sienna on a back-pick, Sienna shoots the ball, and it goes in," said head coach Sandrine Krul.
Hoban filled the stat sheet, recording 11 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals in the win.
Kaylee Lawson grabbed her second double-double of the season with 14 points, 10 boards and 3 blocks.
Khaya Jackson paced the bench with 13 points.
"It was a scrappy, scrappy game," said Krul.
Aariah Fox led the effort on the glass, grabbing 15 rebounds.
"We rebounded the ball really well, struggled a little bit from shooting from the field, but all in all, what a great team win," said Krul.
The Vaqueros are back in action tonight as they take on No. 24 Hartnell College.
