Bautista, Knegt make Academic All-State team

SBCC basketball players Mizhrua Bautista and Charlotte Knegt have been named to the 2013-14 Academic All-State team.

SBCC basketball players Mizhrua Bautista and Charlotte Knegt have been named to the 2013-14 Academic All-State team.

Bautista, a 5-2 sophomore from East L.A., had a 3.57 GPA. She played the last two seasons for the Vaqueros and did a little of everything on this year's 11-16 squad, averaging 4.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals.

Knegt, a 5-10 forward from Holland, had a perfect 4.0 GPA during the 2013-14 season when she played in 15 games.

Twenty-six players made the Academic All-State team. To qualify, a student-athlete has to have played at least one season and completed at least 24 units with a minimum GPA of 3.5.
