Men's Tennis Falls to Chabot
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Santa Barbara City College Men's Tennis hosted a quality team in Chabot on Thursday, falling 8-1. After a slow start in the doubles round, the Vaqueros played with heart and competed well in singles against the visitors–a deep opponent from the East Bay.
"Chabot was strong in doubles by taking the ball early and attacking well," head coach Danny Echt said. "They put us on our heels with court pressure, and we struggled a bit on the return of serve."
At No. 2 doubles, Matias Lapidus and Herman Sagedahl had some chances to break at 4-4, but Chabot served their way out of trouble to an 8-4 win. Yet, it was still a great connection for the Vaqueros' pair, who were playing together for the first time.
