SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Vaqueros were unable to capitalize on several strong chances, as they held Moorpark to a final score of 0-0 on Wednesday at La Playa Stadium.
Midfielder Gustavo Loera led the attack with four shots, two on goal, while winger Payton Rodgers added five attempts and two on target.
Defensively, goalkeeper Arturo Alegria and the backline anchored by Dean Wilson and Mario Romero held firm to secure the shutout for SBCC. Alegria remains one of the most consistent keepers in the state, ranking third in goals against and sixth in save percentage among goalies who have played at least eight games.
With the result, SBCC extends its unbeaten streak to three matches and improves its conference record to 1-0-2.
The Vaqueros will look to build momentum when they travel to LA Mission College on Friday, Oct. 24, at 6 p.m. for their next WSC matchup.
