Consistent Vaqueros Earn Second at WSC #6
By Jimmy Friery
PALMDALE, Calif. – The Santa Barbara City College Men's Golf team placed second for the fourth time in Western State Conference (WSC) play on Monday, shooting 297 at WSC #6 at Rancho Vista Golf Club.
Canyons pulled away from the pack with two of the top-three golfers on the day—shooting a 68 and 71—but the Vaqueros' remarkable consistency helped them finish as the best of the rest. All four of the golfers on the scoresheet shot either a 74 or 75.
Reynaldo Rodriguez, Hugo de Mollerat du Jeu, and Mason Gredvig all tied for the team lead at 74. Brayden Mlodzik's 75 rounded out the group, who finished four strokes better than third-place Citrus (301).
Wyatt Taylor (77) and Aidan Watts (80) were not far off the pace, either. They both would have made the scoresheet on five of the other seven teams competing.
The Vaqueros have three more Mondays of the regular season remaining. Next Monday, they travel to San Dimas Canyon Golf Course for WSC #7 hosted by Citrus.
