Vaqueros Take Fifth of 15 Teams at Victoria Club
By Jimmy Friery
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Santa Barbara City College Men's Golf team shot a 307 on Monday at Victoria Club in a non-conference event, good for fifth of 15 teams competing. Most notably, they finished at least six strokes better than WSC foes Citrus, Glendale, and Ventura—their closest competitors at WSC #1 last time out.
For a course where only two of the 100 golfers finished below par, Reynaldo Rodriguez's two-over 74 was a really solid day. His score was a Vaquero-best and tied for ninth among all golfers.
Max Cali and Braydon Mlodzik each shot a 77 (+5), in the top third of all golfers. Hugo de Mollerat du Jeu was close behind them at 79.
Of the six WSC programs competing on the day, Santa Barbara was the second best, only behind powerhouse Canyons. Canyons actually fielded two teams, finishing second and third.
The Vaqueros look ahead to WSC #3 at Santa Maria Country Club next Monday, March 2.
