SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Western State Conference (WSC) announced its 2025-26 Men's Basketball awards on Saturday. After their best season in 19 years, the Vaqueros rightfully had four players earn All-Conference honors, highlighted by Jack Berry and James Reach making the First Team.
Berry, a freshman from Newport Harbor High School, led the team with 13.5 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, and 1.5 steals per game. The forward was one of the most efficient shooters in the conference; his 63.7 shooting percentage is good for third in the WSC North.
Reach, the only sophomore of the four Vaqueros, was integral to the team's success this year. Playing the most minutes (741), he was second on the team in points (11.6) rebounds (4.3), and steals (1.1) per game. He also made the WSC North First Team as a freshman last season.
Mason Thomas and Dominic Bonafede—both freshmen—were named Honorable Mentions. They shot 47 and 46 percent from the field, respectively. Thomas' nine points per game were good for third on the team, while Bonafede's 3.8 rebounds per game were also good for third, both only behind Berry and Reach.
Given that three freshmen earned All-Conference honors during the program's best season in nearly two decades, the Vaqueros Men's Basketball program is in good shape. 2026-27 is looking to be an exciting season for Santa Barbara.
