GLENDALE, Calif. – Santa Barbara City College used efficient shooting from the field to claim a 61-54 win over Glendale College on Saturday.
SBCC made 56.5% of field goals in the first half to jump out to a 13-point lead.
James Reach ended the half with 10 points, on 4-of-5 from the field and a couple of 3-pointers.
Reach finished with 13 points and 3 steals while Jack Berry scored a team-high 14 points to finish in double-digits for the eighth consecutive game.
Berry continues to be a model of efficiency from the field, converting on 60.6% of field goal attempts on the season.
Jesse Ybarra paced the bench with 7 points while Eddie Weber-Stover led the team with 4 assists.
The SBCC defense held Glendale to just 36.2% shooting from the field, a crucial stat since Glendale outrebounded SBCC 34-23.
Santa Barbara improved its record to 11-4 and will play again on Mon. Dec 29 at the Cougar Holiday Classic at College of the Canyons.
