Link, Besmer, Haas Each Win February Athlete of the Month

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Three Vaquero student-athletes were named Western State Conference (WSC) Athlete of the Month for February in their respective sports, announced by the conference on Monday. Trinity Link won the title for Women's Swimming, Iris Besmer won for Women's Tennis, and Kiala Haas won for Women's Track & Field.

Link, a sophomore from Washington, had a podium finish in all 17 of her events in February. Even better, she won 14 of those 17, including all eight at the Mt. San Antonio Invitational.

Besmer was a big part of Women's Tennis' 7-1 record in February. She won every one of both her singles and doubles matches, only losing one set the entire month.

Haas, a San Marcos graduate, won four individual races in the opening month. The sophomore won both the 600m and 1500m at the Moorpark Open before winning the 800m and 1500m again at the Ventura Invitational.
