SBCC recorded its first shutout of the season on a cold Tuesday, blanking Ventura 9-0 in the WSC opener at Ventura.

The Vaqueros are 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the eight-team WSC.

All six singles posted straight-set victories and the only close sets came at No. 4 singles, where Jule Lauinger beat Tanya Thompson 7-6 (3), 6-3 and No. 5 singles where Maddie Mitchell downed Aliyah Amaya 6-0, 7-6 (1).
