Kaylene Ureno recorded 14 kills and 10 digs on Friday as No. 22 SBCC upset No. 13 Butte 3-0 in the opening round of the eighth annual Brahma Invitational women’s volleyball tournament at L.A. Pierce. The scores were 25-22, 25-19, 25-16.
Emma Fraser poured in 10 goals on Friday, leading the SBCC women’s water polo team to a pair of victories at the Mt. SAC Classic in Walnut. The Vaqueros beat Orange Coast 13-9 and the host Mt. SAC 16-6.
SBCC found itself in unfamiliar territory on Friday as it fell behind in a women's soccer match for the first time all season. Victor Valley took a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute but the Vaqueros rallied to record a 2-1 triumph in Victorville.
